So, it's summer again and time to gather the courage to go swimsuit shopping!!!!! A daunting task on the best of days but to make matters worse, this time around you are expecting a baby and you are wondering how you will find a comfortable and flattering swimsuit for those hot months. Have no fear! Over the past several years, maternity clothing has become hip, stylish, and flattering, and maternity swimwear is right there alongside the most stylish maternity wear. In fact, I found it easier to get a flattering maternity swimsuit than when I was not pregnant!!
Here are a few handy hints to help you find the perfect swimsuit for your needs.1) Buy maternity swimwear.
This is very important, as many expectant mothers decide to buy regular swimwear in a size
larger. This is often big in places you aren't. Maternity swimwear is cut to fit expectant mothers, so there is extra room for the growing belly, bust, and hips. 2) Consider a One Piece Swimsuit.
Not ready to show off that gorgeous belly? Go for a one piece, a cut that has become very popular and practical. A great option is the Ilant Crossover Back Swimsuit, style BI24. With a generous shelf bra, and crossover back straps, this style gives good support for the bigger busted girls. It has a sweet heart neckline and lots of ruching in the sides which expands as you need it, but looks great regardless how big your tummy is! It is a stylish, yet practical swimsuit that flatters your body. It also comes in chlorine resistant fabric so is great for those pregnancy aqua aerobics classes or for lap swimming. The crossover back straps also have the added bonus of not falling off your shoulders which again is particularly handy when exercising or swimming.3) You have a long or short torso...
swimsuit is a very practical yet fashionable style. They provide coverage for an expanding belly. And it doesn't matter how long your ‘body' is. The tankini
is one of the most popular maternity swimwear styles, meaning you have a wider choice of colours and cuts, plains, prints, frills etc.
4) Consider a halter neckline.
5) Cover up
While enhancing your bust line, a halter top also allows you to adjust the size (you can tie it as high or low as you wish) so that the top is fitted perfectly to your body.,.Cute, feminine, and practical, a halter top is a great option for all body types.
While any swimsuit is going to show a bit of skin, if you don't want to draw attention to your growing belly at the pool or beach then invest in a light tunic cover-up. Gayle Petrie Maternity Designs has several styles in beautiful cool cottons. These cover-ups can also be worn casually with jeans, capris or shorts. There is also a good selection of maternity board shorts available which can double as casual shorts away from the beach.
So don't let pregnancy keep you away from the pool or beach this summer. Find the perfect maternity swimwear that compliments your body type and have fun in the sun!
Overall, make sure you feel great in whichever style you choose. The goal is to feel beautiful during one of the most exciting times of your life, and with the great maternity swimwear options available today, this is entirely possible!
